Description
Welcome to Earlycoppercoins! I am the owner, Shawn A. Yancey, and I am a member of ANA and Early American Coppers, EAC #4647. I am pleased to offer the following item:Heritage 11/01/16 lot 5112, where it was described as: "1795 1/2 C Plain Edge, No Pole, Thin Planchet, C-5a, B-5a, R.3, XF45 PCGS. An impressive example of the popular No Pole variety. As always for C-5a, a biplanar diagonal crack is present above HALF. On most examples, HALF CENT is worn smooth, but those letters are fully readable on the present coin. The olive-brown surfaces are well defined, and the only remotely mentionable marks are located near the LI in LIBERTY. Our EAC grade XF40." The coin realized ,405 back in 2016, and priced very fairly here. Very sharp, glossy, and attractive, one of the nicest examples of this variety that I have handled. If you did not see the grade on the holder, I think most people would assume this is an AU+. The C-5a Plain Edge No Pole attribution is listed on the PCGS label, and PCGS Price Guide for this variety comes in at ,750 - my asking price is much less!
