    Description

    GIRL SCOUTS GS-1A, 1920
    GREEN NECKERCHIEF w/ FIRST TREFOIL
    Here is a triangular neckerchief that is the
    most recognized Girl Scout accessory
    next to the badge sash.  This "First" trefoil (see the 5th picture,) began in1919 and was black.  This Rust color was introduced in 1920, and still had the BLACK trefoil, indicating it was very early.  Yellow was introduced on the trefoil on most colors by 1921.
    This measures approximately 48 inches on the long side, and 32 inches on the short sides. This is in fair condition because of the group of holes that looks like a
    stain
    in the picture.
    I had all but the Khaki or
    brown color, so these never got into a frame.  Thus they are all listed here one at a time.
    Remember,
    at that time, uniforms were worn to camp, when games were played as well as at meetings.
    The Uniform guide shows as many as 14 colors of Neckerchiefs at that time.
