    Description

    The obverse has a bust of HST facing left with "PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES - HARRY S. TRUMAN" on it.
    The reverse depicts the White House with "INAUGURATED APRIL 12 1945 - JANUARY 20, 1949," on it.
    Truman became President in 1945 upon the death of Franklin Roosevelt.
    The medal was sculpted by John Sinnock, who served as Chief Engraver of the United States Mint from 1925 to 1947.
    A historically important Presidential medal.
