    Description

    Welcome to
    Antiques & Moore!
This listing is for an exceptional example of Peloton glass in the form of an Art Glass finger bowl produced by Kralik during the Art Nouveau Period, c. 1880-1900.
    Measures  2 1/2" high with a top diameter of 4 1/2".
This stunning bowl has a soft, light blue body blown glass body that is beautifully decorated with colorful thin glass threads or filaments of glass rolled into the glass body of the object in random patterns. The glass is then finished by glazing with a thin coating of clear glass encasing the colorful "threads" within the glass. This technique was patented by Wilhelm Kralik for the Harrach Glassware Company in Bohemia in 1880.
This glass is considered rare today and this is a lovely example. Most examples were made with a clear glass body so this makes this beautiful bowl even more desirable. Peloton glass is considered a must-have for all major Art Glass collections.
This gorgeous bowl is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks.
