Straps and Tree Huggers are used to pitch hammocks to lower the impact on nature.  "Leave No Trace" is the motto of the backpacking, hiking and camping communities.
    Regular vs Heavy Duty
.  This listing is for the regular duty version.  For those who need lighter weight for backpacking and who won't exceed 320 pounds in their hammock.  The regular version has a capacity of 320 pounds and the heavy duty version has a capacity of 600 pounds.  The heavy duty version is a couple of dollars more for the same length and color, and the weight is about 1.8 ounces more for a 6 foot pair in black.  A regular black 6 foot pair weighs 3.05 ounces, and a heavy duty black pair weighs 4.85 ounces.
    Tree Straps vs Tree Huggers
.  Tree Straps have a loop on one end of each strap and Tree Huggers have loops at each end.  Tree Huggers can be more complex adding multiple loop attachment points along the length of the webbing.  Tree Straps are simple and light weight generally using a marlin spike knot to attach a whoopie sling.
I make these Tree Straps and Tree Huggers in two colors, black or camo, and in two weights, Regular, and Heavy Duty.  This listing is for the Regular Duty version.  To make this version I use 1500 pound polyester webbing in 1 inch width.  Several webbing materials are available to use, polyester does not suffer from the elements and weaken nearly as much as most other materials, such as nylon.  It does not have much stretch, virtually none as compared to other materials, making your hammock easier to set up, and making it more comfortable, you won't find yourself sagging to the ground overnight, having to get up and adjust.
I have had request for differing lengths, for example, one might want one strap 7' long and one strap 9' long.  To accommodate this simply add the two lengths you want and divide by 2 giving you the length you need to order.  Send me an email to let me know what lengths you want and I'll make them.  In the example of 7' and 9' straps, add the two lengths to get 16' and divide that by 2 and you will need to order a pair of 8' straps, then email me to let me know and I'll send you one 7' and one 9' length.  If you have any questions, don't hesitate to email.
I prefer Tree Huggers personally, but use both.  If you're counting grams, or using various metal buckles, get the straps.  The advantages with Tree Huggers are you have more set up options and if you use it like a Tree Strap and alternate the loop you use, you may extend its life, as well as having a backup loop built in.
